2638A-101

The 2638A-101 Current Shunt Resistors are mounted inside the Universal Input Module using the same screw terminals that accept the user's input wiring. This option contains 10 resistors for measuring up to 10 current channels.

The current shunts are 10 Ohm, +/- 0.08 % resistors that support  current measurement up to 100 mA. The resistors are placed in series with the circuit to be measured. The voltage across the resistor is directly proportional to the current flowing through it. The data acquisition instrument processes the resultant voltage into an equivalent current for display and recording.

These shunt resistors are compatible with the 2638A-100 input module for the Hydra Series III 2638A. Shunt resistor sets for 2640A, 2645A, 2680A and legacy Hydra, and Hydra series II data acquisition products have different lead spacing requirements on the input module and require the 2620A-101 shunt set.
