How to Implement Mismatch Error (Gamma) Corrections for RF Power Sensor Calibration
Mismatch errors are generally a significant contributor to total measurement uncertainty in RF power sensor calibration. If the match characteristics of the relevant devices are known in terms of both magnitude and phase, a correction factor may be calculated and applied to compensate results for mismatch errors, thus reducing total measurement uncertainty. This technique is commonly referred to as ‘Gamma Correction’, and becomes important if achieving best uncertainties is a requirement - particularly at higher frequencies where mismatch errors are larger. This webinar provides a brief introductory overview of mismatch errors and uncertainties, and explains in practical terms what is needed and how to perform the calculations necessary to apply mismatch corrections when calibrating power sensors.
