How to Extend Oscilloscope Bandwidth Calibration to 27GHz with an RF Reference Source
Until recently, finding a convenient solution for oscilloscope bandwidth calibrations above 6GHz was problematic - currently 6GHz is the highest frequency oscilloscope calibrators provide levelled sine wave outputs for bandwidth tests. Imputing equivalent bandwidth from a fast edge rise time measurement is possible (for example, to around 15GHz with the Fluke 9500B oscilloscope calibrator and 9560 25ps Head), but may be impractical or inappropriate. Alternatively, users often resort to the added complexity of a high frequency signal generator, power splitter and power meter . A new RF Calibrator, the Fluke 96270A, greatly speeds up and simplifies oscilloscope bandwidth testing up to 27GHz. This webinar describes how the 96270A may be used by itself, or alongside a 9500B oscilloscope calibrator or other multi-product calibrators with oscilloscope calibration options.
