How to Update the Calibration Information in MET/CAL Software After a Standard Has Been Calibrated
This application note describes the process how to update the calibration information in MET/CAL software after a standard has been calibrated by an external laboratory. Note that all screen images in this application note are subject to change and depend on the local customization of the database. Examples are taken from the default database.
When the Calibration information is not updated MET/CAL generates the following error in the Run-Time module:
This means that the Calibrator is found in the database to be out of calibration.
You can update the Calibration information as follows:
Open the Manual Entry module and log on with a user who is authenticated to enter calibration information. This depends on the Customization of the database and the user-level.
You now should see the following window:
Search for the calibrator by selecting Search | Find Asset from the menu and type in the asset number of the calibrator in the appropriate data field:
Select Search again from the menu and the inventory form for the calibrator is shown:
Now select Form | Calibration from the menu and the most recent calibration form for this asset is shown:
This form shows you that the instrument is past due. Now you can enter a new calibration record by pressing the + button.
The form for entering new calibration data is shown.
Fill in the appropriate data for the last calibration of the instrument. Note that the fields with the green color are mandatory and that the fields with the cyan color contain default data, but the data can be changed. If you go with the Tab key from the Cal-Date towards the Due-date the Due-Date is automatically calculated from the Cal-Date and the Calibration Interval.
Press the green checkmark button to save the changes.
Close all windows and start the calibration you wanted to perform in the Run-Time module.
The process of updating the Calibration Information in MET/CAL is also described in the User Manual, Section 3, Manually Recording a Calibration Event.
